#1. Arts Visalia

Arts Visalia is located at the historic site of Downtown Visalia, locals and visitors will find many kinds of arts from around the world. Arts, education and community events are all provided by the locals, for adults and children to take part of.

 

#2.Community Players at the Icehouse Theatre

Back in 1976, the City of Visalia granted the Ice House building to the local community to preserve the art and musical theater for them. Since then, the players and the community are working together to do what is necessary to fix and convert the old building to become a theater for the people of Visalia.

The Visalia Community Players, is one of the oldest performing theatre companies in San Joaquin Valley of California. It has staged for more than 30 years, at the Ice House Theatre, in Downtown Visalia

 

#3.Creative Center

The Creative Center is a non-profit community art center supported by the city of Visalia. For adults that are physically and mentally disabled. In this arts center, the adults can express themselves through arts, such as music, painting, handcrafting, cultures and more. This is all made possible through the local community.

 

#4. Enchanted Playhouse Theater Company

The Enchanted Playhouse Theater Company was founded in 1992, with one mission: “to enchant, surprise, excite and amuse audiences, young and old”. With the promise of delivering the creation and presentation of family-oriented, fable, fairy tales and stage entertainment in the form of classic novels. The organization is fully operated by year-round volunteer, such as the artist, designers, performers and even the technicians.

 

#5. Imagine U Children’s Museum

Imagine U Children's Museum was opened with the aim of teaching children and creating a multicultural place, where children can learn with their family and friends. This place is perfect for parents to interact together with their children.

 

#6. Mural Trail: Downtown Visalia

For many years, the artist and the communities of the Central Valley, have come together to create art, graffiti, and murals on the famous “concrete canvas” by downtown Visalia. Hundreds of murals and graffiti pieces, decorate the side of the buildings throughout, Visalia and Tulare County. The murals tell the stories of Central Valley's , history, agriculture, historical events and much, much more.

 

#7. Taste the Arts Festival

Every year, in Fall, arts and agriculture fuse together, in Taste the Arts Festival. The festival contains booths and paintings, to celebrates the richness of Central Valley, during the harvest season. The festivities include the Annual Waiter’s Race, live music , dinner, Zumba, culinary, wine tasting and Tulare County Symphony of Downtown Visalia as well!

 

#8. Tulare County Symphony Extra

Tulare County Symphony Extra was founded in the backyard of Pat Hillman. Their main quest is to provide a classical and symphony orchestra for Tulare County, also to encourage and foster the appreciation of symphonic music. They want to further the participation in creative music, education and development of the young minds in Central Valley as well.

 

#9. Visalia Fox Theatre

Visalia Fox Theatre is one of the most famous landmark, in the history of Visalia. It opened in 1930, by Fox, the theatre introduced Visalia and the Central Valley, to the era of “talking pictures”. Due to financial struggling, the theatre was closed in the mid of 1990’s., however, thanks to the friends of the Fox Theatre, there was a reopening. Now the Fox is available for special occasion such as concerts, play, recitals, wedding, wedding receptions and more! 

 

#10. College of the Sequoias Art Gallery

The Art Gallery of COS is created to support the students, in order to encourage their ambitious intensions in learning and discovering their talents. With The Art Gallery of COS, quality of art exhibition, event and presentation, it plays a critical role in the mission of the college. The art gallery provides 5 exhibition opportunities for national, regional, and local artwork, during the fall and spring semester. It also provides a showcase, for the students to introduce their work, to the public, helping raise awareness and appreciation for all forms of art.
